Healthy choices help children grow and learn, likewise prevents obesity and weight related diseases. We encourage youth invovlment in meal preparation.
Education is a prime factor increasing awareness. Breakfast is the main dietary meal, yet as age goes up, those youth eating breakfast goes down. 80% of high school students are not getting their 5 a day requirement of fruit and vegetables. Female students are not consuming enough calcium to support healthy bone development, and 39% of children 2-17 are not meeting their daily fiber intake.
